The mere mention of the word Tahiti makes people smile! What is not to love about the islands of Tahiti with their turquoise water, fresh flower leis, world class spas and a laid back life style only the Polynesians know how to master!

Most people when they dream of their honeymoon in Tahiti will picture themselves in an over the water bungalow!

Unlike any other hotel room you’ve stayed in before, these traditional thatched-roof bungalows are perched above tranquil lagoon waters. In many of the over water bungalows, tropical fish swim below as you look through the glass floor or coffee table.

With all the amenities of a first-class hotel room, here on your private balcony surrounded only by water and sky, you can enjoy both breakfast, often delivered by canoe.

Looking for oceanfront view without being directly over the water? A beach bungalow allows you to walk directly from your bungalow to the sandy beach. Some of the finer properties also include your own pool or jacuzzi.

Trying to keep your costs down on your Tahiti vacation? A garden view is less expensive option while still offering all the amenities the resorts have to offer. Because the Tahitian islands are small and most aren’t densely populated, the garden bungalows offer privacy without the ocean view price.

Looking for an all inclusive option to Tahiti? We offer an exotic 7-10 day cruise around the islands of Tahiti and have all your meals and entertainment included in the price of your travel package.

Not sure of what to do when you arrive in Tahiti? As your Tahiti Specialist we can arrange various tours and excursions to complete your honeymoon package.

Explore the island interiors on a 4×4 safari, guided nature hike, or horseback ride. Skim across the lagoons on a jet ski, sailboat, or powerboat. For dramatic views above the islands, take a helicopter tour.

Divers and snorkelers are amazed by how clear the waters are and how close they can swim to the marine life, such as the gigantic manta rays. With hundreds of dive sites throughout the islands of Tahiti, divers can choose from the amazing drift dives, oceanic drop-offs, sunken ships, and lagoon dives with colorful marine life.

Many little girls dream of their “big day” and what that will entail! As they grow older they may fine tune ideas that when you are 7 years old just don’t work when you are 27. Such as a horse drawn carriage in the snow may sound romantic but timing the weather can be a little tricky to say the least.

Another dream is being married with your “toes in the sand.” This vision is easy to have come true. Especially in Hawaiian Islands as the normal temperature is 75 degrees year round.

Granted some islands in Hawaii can have a bit more rain than others. This all depends on the time of year and location of your beach wedding.

Travel to Maui is a Hawaiian travel agency located on the island of Maui. Our specialty is honeymoons and destination wedding travel packages to Hawaii.

We are also a Maui Master and Hawaiian Destination Specialist with the Hawaii Visitor Bureau. We know the best places to stay, fun things to see and do, and great places to eat, drink and shop! We will also save you time and money on your Hawaiian vacation!

When planning your destination wedding or honeymoon to Hawaii contact the travel experts at Travel toMauifor a quote or to schedule a consulting appointment. http://www.traveltomaui.net

Maui, Hawaii 10/24/11 –Marie Glodt a Hawaiian based travel agent completed a specialized training program and is now certified as a Yachtalist with American Safari Cruises.

This upscale line with three yachts sailing adventure cruises in Alaska, Hawaii, Columbia & Snake Rivers, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés and Washington & British Columbia.

To join the Yachtalist Club, travel agents must participate in three web presentations and pass an exam. The Yachtalist program focuses on the inclusive un-cruise vacation offered by American Safari Cruises’ three upscale yachts—12-guest Safari Spirit, 22-guest Safari Quest and 36-guest Safari Explorer.
“We commend travel agents who take the time to complete the certification program,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing, American Safari Cruises. “By becoming a specialist, agents have the expertise to paint a clear picture of our inclusive, upscale yacht adventures for their clients.”

The line’s exclusive yacht adventures offer close up exploration in some of the world’s most scenic destinations. All three yachts sail in Southeast Alaska during the summer with two days spent exploring in Glacier Bay National Park. The Safari Quest also sails in Mexico’s Sea of Cortés and Washington and British Columbia. The Safari Spirit sails on the Columbia and Snake Rivers including special Culinary and Wine Discovery voyages. The Safari Explorer sails inter-island cruises in Hawaii.
Marie Glodt at Travel to Maui specializes in honeymoons, destination wedding travel and family reunions. Her 20+ year’s experience and passion for her job shows in her superior customer service.

Regardless if this is your first trip to Maui or your 51st, there is always something new to try when you are here.

“As a resident of Hawaii and a travel agent who specializes in Hawaiian vacations I love to share new ideas with my clients how to make their travel extra special!”

I know when many people think of Maui they dream of endless sandy beaches with waterfalls falling right into the ocean. You can find all of these things on Maui, just not side by side!

The waterfalls are located on our wet side of the island or the “windward” side as they call it here in Hawaii. This is about a 3 hour drive from most of the resorts on the island of Maui.

For the most part the most popular beaches are located on the leeward side of the island. This will be the driest areas on the island and where most of the resorts or hotels and condos will be located.

The island of Maui is unique in that addition to the windward side and the leeward side we also have the beautiful “upcountry” area of Maui. This is on the slopes of Haleakala Crater. The summit of Haleakala is at the 10,000 feet elevation. This is home to our Nene goose (Hawaii state bird) and the silver sword plant.

As you travel down the crater into the lower elevations of 4,000-2,000 feet you will find our agricultural areas of Kula, and Ulupalakua. Here you will find our protea gardens, farm tours and our own winery.

Recently I had the pleasure of touring the grounds of Kula Botanical Gardens. I must admit in all my years of living on Maui I had never been inside the Botanical Gardens. My past visits to the property had been to purchase our Christmas tree and to ship beautiful protea flowers from Upcountry Harvest www.upcountryharvest.com to friends and family in the mainland

This was my first time to relax and take an hour or so walking the grounds of Kula Botanical Garden checking out the vast array of flowers and fauna from around the world.

This colorful garden is acres of plant life, waterfalls, a small aviary and a koi pond. I wished I had brought along a picnic lunch so I could have enjoyed the peace and quiet this garden provided!

Aloha from Maui,
I am so glad you asked this question. I see it all the time on “the knot” Yahoo answers, and other wedding chat rooms with people giving really BAD feedback.

Back in the old days before the airlines charged you for luggage it was fairly simple to bring your dress with you on the flight. BACK then you could easily fit it in the over head or ask nicely and the flight attendant who would probably stow it for you in the first class cabin. That was back then.

NOWADAYS it is not such a great idea to carry it with you on the flight.

Picture this: You get to the airport, and the first thing that happens is the TSA person has you take your wedding dress out of the bag and put it on the belt. It needs to fit in that small bin. You HOPE it doesn’t get stuck in the machine.

Then you jockey with the 250+ or so people on your plane for the over head bin because everyone is trying to AVOID paying that stupid baggage fee imposed by the airlines.

Every flight I have been on coming back to Maui has had more than one bride on the flight with her dress (remember we are one of the #1 destination wedding location)!

I always see people trying to jam their bag in a spot that it clearly doesn’t fit.

How will you feel when you see a stranger MOVE your dress so he can jam his kid’s sippy cup and diaper bag in “your” bin?

See what I mean? Bringing your wedding dress on the flight to Maui is NOT the best way to get it here.

Here is my advice: Plain and simple. SHIP IT! Ask your wedding planner or hotel front desk who they suggest to press your dress, and pick it up the first day or two when you get here.

Of course it goes without saying to send it with a tracking # and insured for the cost of the dress.

Do you plan on visiting Hawaii soon and are looking for ideas of fun things to see and do? Well look no further. As your guide to Hawaii I will point out some of the highlights of our Hawaiian Islands.

This includes Maui, Kauai, Hawaii, Oahu, Lanai and Molokai.

Written by Marie Glodt Travel to Maui

As a Hawaii Destination Specialist and a resident of Maui I hear all the time “Hawaii is so expensive!”

This may be true when comparing the islands of Hawaii to smaller towns in the United States. But when you compare Hawaii to other world class resort areas we are actually a great bargain!

Fun things to do for free in Hawaii:

Hike Diamond Head Crater on the island of Oahu.

Learn all about the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

Stop by the Koloa rum factory on the island of Kauai and have a free sample of rum (must be 21+).

See an active volcano on the big island and watch the lava flow into the ocean

Visit Iao Valley on the island of Maui

Take a day trip to Hana and see all the beautiful waterfalls that Maui has to offer

Watch the water gush out of the blow hole on Kauai’s south side of the island

Hike a dormant volcano at the Waimea Canyon on Kauai

Akaka Falls on the big island of Hawaii is a quick 10 minute walk to 2 of the prettiest waterfalls on the island.

Watch windsurfing at Hookipa on the north shore of Maui

See the sunrise on Maui atop Haleakala Crater at 10,000 feet.

Here is list of fun things to see and do in Hawaii for $100 or less!
