Cruise Hawaii

Cruise Hawaii

7 day cruise of the Hawaiian islands.

What island is the best in Hawaii?

I see this question all the time at Yahoo answers, trip advisor, lonely planet, fodors, and in chat rooms.

My answer as a Maui travel agent and Hawaii destination specialist is always the same.

“It depends on the traveler and what are their interests, budget and tastes.”

There really isn’t a bad choice when deciding which island to visit in Hawaii. There just may one island that is better suited to you life style and requirements in a Hawaiian vacation.

All of the islands in Hawaii will have our wonderful “Aloha Spirit,” water sports, hiking trails, and snorkeling regardless of which island you pick in the state.

Honolulu located on the island of Oahu

Are you looking for nightlife and shopping, lots of dining options and more? Does your vacation social calendar need lots of entries to keep you happy? You would be the type of traveler who would enjoy the high rises in Waikiki, the city lights of Honolulu, located on the island of Oahu.

Will you be spending your honeymoon with us in Hawaii? Then you will probably want to be on a more secluded island. Or limit your stay in Oahu to 2 or 3 days prior to traveling to the second island in Hawaii.

The island of Lanai has 2 luxury properties. This island is perfect if you idea of a honeymoon or vacation to Hawaii is to be pampered in their world class spa, and wrapped in the finest in amenities.
Don’t be expecting a Costco or McDonalds during your stay as they don’t exist on the island of Lanai (or Molokai).

volcano meets the sea

Want to see an active volcano? The big island of Hawaii has been “growing” since 1983. I have actually flown over the lava in a helicopter, small plane, cruised by on a cruise ship and walked to the rift. By far this is one of the most spectacular things I have done in my lifetime.

When dreaming of your Hawaiian vacation do you imagine of sitting on a lounge chair having someone bring you fruity tropical drinks, and relaxing watching the whales? Maui is my favorite island to see whales and so much more. That is why I call Maui home!

Kauai is known for its lush green valleys, spectacular rainbows and cascading waterfalls. In order to have rainbows and waterfalls a little rain must fall.  The wettest months are generally December-April.

Breaking news about Waikiki Beach in Oahu

Beach maintenance activities are scheduled from March 12th through April 2012 and will require the temporary closure of sections of Waikiki Beach from 7 am to 12-noon, seven days a week. These partial beach closures are necessary to ensure public safety during periods of active beach maintenance work.

The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) is conducting a project to restore sand to approximately 1,730 feet of shoreline from the west end of the Kuhio Beach, in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue, and to the Royal Hawaiian.

Aloha from Maui, Hawaii.

As a resident of Hawaii and a travel agent I would like to share some of my favorite Hawaiian travel tips.

Travel to Maui specializes in honeymoons and destination wedding travel to Hawaii. We book everyone from the first time travelers to the most avid traveler. Included with their documents they also receive a document with lots of great travel tips for their upcoming Hawaiian vacation.

Beach wedding in Hawaii

I would like to share my top #10 tips with you today.

1. Make sure and read your documents carefully when they arrive!

 2. If you have any questions or concerns this is the time to address them. The day of your flight or once you are in transit is too late to make any changes!

 3. Reconfirm your flights and issue your boarding passes online as soon as they become available. This is generally allowed by the airlines 24 hours prior to your departure flight.

 4. Arrive early at the airport. At least 2 hours prior to flight on domestic flights to insure the best seating and allow for adequate time to clear security with TSA.

 5. If you plan on eating on the flight bring a credit card. Most airlines no longer accept cash!

 6. When you pick up your rental car decline the prepaid gas option. It is a much better value to fill up the vehicle just prior to returning it.

 7. Check in time at most hotels and condos in Hawaii are 3pm. A few of the luxury hotels will be 4pm.  If you are arriving prior to this time you may want to call the property first to make sure your room is available.  Check out time is normally noon. It is a good idea to reconfirm this with the front desk when you arrive.

8. Book your tours and excursions prior to your arrival. Many of the more popular tours sell out weeks in advance.

 9. Wear lots of sunscreen! The tropical weather and light trade winds keeps you cool and you may not even feel it when you are getting sunburned.

 10. Last but not least. If your suitcase GREW when you were here in the islands ship yourself a package back home. Priority flat rate cost you about $12.00 for up to 20#. Much less than the airlines will charge you if your luggage is over their #50 limit.

You are engaged, now what do you do?

Destination Weddings

The holidays are over, you have just gotten engaged, and the families have been told of your upcoming wedding plans. Now what should you do?

The next step is to hire a wedding coordinator and a travel agent who specializes in your desired destination.

Choosing your wedding consultant is the first step toward the wedding of your dreams. It is important to choose a coordinator that shares your vision of the wedding and can make that vision into a reality.

Your wedding coordinator should have an excellent reputation with both the wedding vendors, past clients, plus unique ideas and creativity to share.

Hiring a professional travel specialist with these same qualifications will make your romantic honeymoon or destination wedding “the vacation of a lifetime!”

Planning a honeymoon?  Hawaii & Tahiti are among the top honeymoon and destination wedding locations. They also provide a wide range of resort and activities or excursions.

Some of the most popular tours would include: a luau (great for rehearsal dinners), snorkel trip, a scenic helicopter flight over an active volcano, swimming with the dolphins, romantic sunset sail, and more.

Planning a destination wedding? It is advisable that you plan at least six to twelve months prior to your wedding. This allows your guests ample time to arrange their travel reservations and coordinate with your plans.

It is customary for guests to pay their own travel costs for destination weddings, but many couples provide transportation for the wedding party, or host a special event for their guest other than the wedding itself.

We here at Travel to Maui will assure you of the quality vacation you looking for without the stress and time involved while trying to arrange things on your own.

“The time an agency spends on your behalf may be worth any fees you’ll have to pay.” Frommer’s Hawaii

“A competent agent takes the time to listen to what you want, and then makes recommendations based on your needs. In fact, good travel agents don’t consider themselves agents at all, but “specialists in a destination or travel type.” “They can get you information that can’t be found on the Web. They listen more than they speak and then wow you with the perfect trip!” • “The right travel agent that will save you the most money will have a few distinct traits.

First, the travel agent will ask you tons of questions about your plans, travel itinerary, preferences, and flexibility. The travel agent that asks these questions will have a better chance of finding you deals that you can work with!”

Are you ready to start planning your vacation of a lifetime? We are here to help make your dreams come true. We here at Travel to Maui look forward to serving all of your travel needs to Hawaii, Tahiti, and the South Pacific! Travel to Maui Specializing in Hawaii, Tahiti & South Pacific.

1.)    Hawaii is one of the most romantic places in the United States, and one of the top honeymoon locations in the world!

2.)    Customize your honeymoon package by including a “romance package” in your travel plans. This varies depending on hotel and costs. A few examples would be a dinner for two under the stars, tandem massage in an ocean front cabana, and more!

3.)    The Hawaiian Islands offers an array of ocean activities to complete your holiday. The most popular water sports would be: a dinner cruise, snorkel trip, whale watching (December-April), and scuba diving.

4.)    Hawaii has some of the best beaches in the world. Here is a short list of the most popular beaches here in Hawaii: Waikiki (Oahu), Wailea & Kaanapali Beach (Maui), Poipu (Kauai), Manele Bay (Lanai), Punaluu & Kauna’ oa Bay (the big island of Hawaii).

5.)    Hawaii is a great value for your travel dollar! Book early and save. It is suggested you book your honeymoon 6-12 months in advance if possible.
